How to
What is Dance Insight?
Dance Insight is a web app that helps dancers practice and improve. You keep a folder for each dance, add your practice videos, mark moments and notes, and play everything back at any speed. See the music’s beat and counts, and get automatic analysis of movements like turns and jumps — with your moments, notes, and progress building up over time.
How does the movement analysis work?
Dance Insight automatically finds movements such as turns and jumps in your video and traces your body as you move, so you can review your lines, timing, and form. It also pins short, friendly observations to the exact moment they happen.
How should I read the analysis results?
Treat them as precise measurements, not a grade. Each result is a neutral observation about a moment — use it as a reference alongside your own eye and your teacher’s feedback. The real value is the trend across your videos as you work on a dance.
Does Dance Insight replace my teacher?
No — it complements your teacher. You get automatic analysis between lessons, and your teacher's notes sit right alongside your own on each video, so their guidance stays with your dancing.
Which dance styles does it support?
It works across many styles — including ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, and acro — because it analyzes body movement rather than a specific genre.
How can I see what to fix when I practice alone?
Record a practice video and Dance Insight plays it back at any speed, traces your body lines, and finds movements like turns and jumps — so you can see your form and timing without a mirror, a studio, or anyone watching. Pin notes to the exact moments you want to work on.
How do I remember my teacher's corrections between lessons?
Keep a folder for each dance and pin notes — yours and your teacher's — to the exact moment they apply in a video. The correction stays attached to the movement it's about, so it's still there the next time you practice, not forgotten by the next day.
How can I tell if my dancing is actually improving?
Add takes to the same dance over time and compare them side by side. Because your moments, notes, and analysis build up take after take, you can watch the trend across sessions instead of guessing — progress you can actually see, not just hope for.
How can I check if my timing is on the beat?
It shows the music's beat and counts on a timeline alongside your video, so you can line up your movements against the count and see your timing for yourself. It measures and shows; it doesn't grade.
Plans & pricing
What plans are available, and how do they differ?
There are three plans — Free, Basic, and Pro. Free is where you start: organize your dances, mark moments, and track your progress. Basic adds more dances and takes, and keeps every take. Pro gives the most room of all, built for ongoing progress. New plans are coming soon.
How much does Dance Insight cost?
You can start for free. Paid plans unlock more dances and takes, and longer storage. Pricing is shown at checkout and on the in-app Plans screen (in your local currency). New plans are coming soon.
What happens to my takes on the free plan?
On the free plan, in each dance the take you mark as a keeper is kept, while your other takes stay for a limited period and are then removed. Your analysis, moments, and notes remain even after a take is removed. Paid plans keep every take until you delete it.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel anytime from the billing portal in your account, and you keep access until the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
Limitations
Why didn’t I get any moments?
Usually the clip doesn’t contain movements we can review yet, or the framing made the dancer hard to track. Try a clip where the dancer stays clearly in frame. Group dances don’t get per-moment analysis (see below).
Can it analyze group dances?
For groups in matching costumes, Dance Insight provides the video, the Music & Count chart, and overall movement strength only — no per-moment analysis. It identifies your dancer by outfit color, so dancers in the same color can be mixed up.
What if the wrong dancer was analyzed?
When several dancers are on screen, pick your dancer in the prompt or tap them directly on the frame. Dance Insight identifies dancers by outfit color, so if several wear the same color it may pick the wrong one — just run it again and choose.
Files, devices & support
What devices and video files do I need?
Dance Insight runs in a web browser on desktop, laptop, or tablet (the latest Chrome, Edge, or Safari) — there’s nothing to install. You can upload MP4, MOV, or M4V files up to 700 MB each. There’s also an iPhone app on the App Store.
My upload failed or the video won’t play — what should I try?
Check your connection and make sure the file is an MP4, MOV, or M4V that plays normally, then try again. Long clips can take a few minutes to process — keep the tab open while it works.
Is my practice video private?
Your videos stay in your own Dance folders and are used to provide the analysis. See our Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.
How do I get help or delete my account?
For anything else, email support@fusion-arts-tech.com — we usually reply within 2–3 business days. You can delete your account and its data anytime from the Account screen in the app.
